Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Giunta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Brick! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Giunta tries to close the distance and clinch but Brick swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Brick avoids the head kick by Giunta.
Giunta misses with a wild combination.
Brick tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Giunta misses with a jab, cross combination.
Giunta shoots in but Brick avoids the takedown attempt easily. Giunta wants to clinch up but Brick keeps it at a distance. Giunta forces Brick back against the cage and clinches. Giunta wants a takedown but no success here.
Brick pulls guard effortlessly. Giunta postures up.
Giunta wants to control from the top but Brick keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Giunta throws a big right hand that misses. Brick managing to control the position. Brick throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Giunta works over Brick with some ground and pound from guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Giunta accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Brick trying to control the position.
Giunta in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Brick looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Giunta throwing strikes but missing. Giunta working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Giunta throws a right hand that Brick ducks under and follows up with a left that Brick also avoids with ease. Brick misses with a series of wild punches.
Giunta is looking to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Giunta throws a right and a left that Brick avoids nicely. Brick drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Giunta is breathing heavily. Giunta is not content to let Brick control the position. Brick stands up. Brick tries to clinch but Giunta moves out of range. Brick throws a combination that misses and Giunta counters with a head kick. Brick bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Giunta tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brick wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Giunta seems a little lost for a moment, as Brick dominates the positioning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brick decides to stand back up. Giunta avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brick is looking to clinch. Brick misses with a takedown attempt - Giunta sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Good leg kick by Giunta there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Giunta. That's going to take a lot out of him. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Giunta as Brick tries to tie him up. Giunta is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Brick pulls him back up using the underhooks. Giunta tries a body shot but Brick blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Giunta fails with the takedown and Brick counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Giunta looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Giunta wants to control but Brick is keeping busy and won't allow it. Giunta tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Brick trying to control the action but Giunta is working from the bottom. Giunta is trying to maintain the position but Brick is very close to passing his half guard. Brick is trying to control. Giunta wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Brick dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Brick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Giunta's waist but Giunta gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brick off to one side. Brick wants to clinch up but Giunta keeps it at a distance. Giunta tries to clinch but Brick is having none of it. Giunta tries to bum rush Brick with a series of wild strikes but Brick uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A head kick misses from Giunta. John Giunta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brick fails to land the takedown. Giunta with a lazy takedown attempt and Brick counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Giunta tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Brick blocks the strikes from Giunta.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Giunta is refusing to be controlled, as Brick sits in half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Brick working over Giunta with some ground and pound. Giunta looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Brick takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Giunta trying to control from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Giunta keeps working.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Good standup being displayed there by Brick as he connects with a hook. Giunta throws a nice looking combination but Brick bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Brick throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Giunta tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brick swats him away and circles back towards the center. Brick lands a body shot.
Giunta looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Brick! Brick working to try and regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Giunta looking to control and managing it successfully. Giunta goes for an armbar but Brick turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Brick. Giunta doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Giunta looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Brick wants to control from the top but Giunta keeps moving. Brick controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brick wants to control from the top but Giunta keeps moving. Brick controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Giunta trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Brick stopping the sweep attempt from Giunta.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Giunta gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. David Brick has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Giunta keeping moving, preventing Brick from controlling successfully. Giunta wants to sweep but no luck. Brick tries to stand but Giunta is controlling from the bottom. Giunta will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Brick wants to control from the top but Giunta keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Brick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Giunta keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Giunta is looking to clinch. Brick darts in and clinches Giunta up against the cage. Brick fails to pull the fight into his guard.

A combination from Giunta does no damage. Giunta throws out a leg kick but Brick moves out of range and Giunta only half commits. Giunta clinches. Giunta pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Giunta tries to clinch but Brick moves out of range. Giunta shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brick as he jumps to the side. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Brick fails to land the takedown. John Giunta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Brick. Giunta misses with a takedown and Brick counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brick lands strikes from half guard. Giunta is looking to improve his position.
Brick is figuring out what he wants to do next. Giunta is looking for a sweep. Brick is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Brick sitting and controlling from the half guard. Giunta is trying to stand up here but Brick is controlling him well. Brick blocks the strikes from Giunta.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Giunta is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Brick scores with a couple of nice shots.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Brick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Giunta is trying to hold Brick in close to prevent damage but Brick has managed to pass into half guard.

Brick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Giunta keeps working. Brick sitting and controlling from the half guard. Giunta keeps control of the position for the meantime.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brick prevents Giunta from improving his position. Giunta is staying active underneath Brick, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Brick keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Brick seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

and Brick counters with a takedown into side control. Brick is chipping away with strikes.

Giunta tries to buck Brick off but Brick is having none of it. Giunta sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Brick wants to take a breather but Giunta is having none of it. Giunta tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Still in half guard, Brick seems content to control. John Giunta has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! David Brick is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Brick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Giunta keeps working.
And that's the end of the fight! David Brick comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Brick winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
