Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Davante Summers (ranked 4798 p4p, 4779 weight class) and Jo Pierce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Davante Summers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jo Pierce! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Summers throws a leg kick and Pierce counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Summers tries to kick Pierce off in order to stand up. Pierce Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Summers is trying to get back to his feet. Pierce tries for a kimura but Summers is defending well. Pierce tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pierce has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Pierce prevents Summers from escaping the position. Pierce tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Summers is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Pierce is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierce working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Summers is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Pierce swings around for an armbar but Summers sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Pierce's guard. Summers wants to get up but he can't break Pierce's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Pierce has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Summers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Summers wants to stand and escape but instead Pierce has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Pierce won't allow Summers to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierce is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Pierce drops back looking for a leg! Summers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Summers manages to kick Pierce off! Pierce jumps back into Summers's guard. Summers wants to stand up but Pierce is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Summers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pierce on the ground. Pierce thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pierce drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pierce jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Summers wants to stand up but Pierce is controlling him. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jo Pierce dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Summers misses with a leg kick and Pierce counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Pierce is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jo Pierce has got the better of the ground game so far. Summers tries to kick Pierce off but Pierce keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Pierce is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Summers is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jo Pierce!
