Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Khabib Nurmagomedov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eom Yong!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nurmagomedov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yong is fending him off so far but Nurmagomedov persists. Nope, Yong circles away and we're back to standing.
Nurmagomedov's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Yong connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nurmagomedov scrambles back to his feet.
Yong connects with a jab.
Nurmagomedov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yong pinned against the cage. Yong gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Eom Yong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nurmagomedov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yong but Yong pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Khabib Nurmagomedov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nurmagomedov tries to move into range but Yong moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Yong scores with a jab to the body.
Nurmagomedov takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Nurmagomedov takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Nurmagomedov is rocked!
Yong cracks Nurmagomedov with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Nurmagomedov falls to his knees and Yong doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eom Yong!
After winning the bout, Eom Yong thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Khabib Nurmagomedov was interviewed post fight and said 'I never fight for the money, but every person is different'.
