PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Raniel Mancuso (ranked 2547 p4p, 4283 weight class) and Ruddo Ryokale (ranked 156 p4p, 259 weight class). Mancuso comes to the cage accompanied by O RetrĂ´ Ativo - HerĂ³is do Status Quo. Raniel Mancuso has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Raniel Mancuso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ruddo Ryokale!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, David Schapiro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryokale looks to land a combination but Mancuso avoids it well.
Ryokale connects with a jab.
Ryokale lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Mancuso gets tackled into the cage by Ryokale. Ryokale maintains the clinch.

Ryokale escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ryokale takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ryokale has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Mancuso misses with a few strikes there.

Ryokale shoots in and bounces Mancuso off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ryokale throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mancuso works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mancuso utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ryokale throwing strikes from guard but Mancuso blocks nicely.

Ryokale postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mancuso is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ryokale, into his guard.


Ryokale has his foot on Mancuso's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mancuso works his way back into a safe position though.
Ryokale has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ryokale is looking for a triangle but Mancuso pushes his legs off easily.
Mancuso will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ryokale has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Mancuso has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Ryokale to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Mancuso is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Ryokale pulls down on the head and he's put Mancuso to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ruddo Ryokale!
In defeat, Raniel Mancuso stepped up to the mic, saying 'Fuck the capitalism!'.
