PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Will Hung (ranked 5800 p4p, 4033 weight class) and Gerson Silva (ranked 556 p4p, 444 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Will Hung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Gerson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hung pinned against the cage. Hung gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Silva takes the fight into the clinch.

Hung jumps guard and drags Silva to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Hung escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Silva seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva wants to control from the top but Hung keeps moving.

Hung has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.

Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hung definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hung bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silva's guard.

Hung postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Hung has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hung on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hung tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Hung is looking for a sweep.
Hung is not content to let Silva control the position.

Silva looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hung with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

This has been an exciting period of action!
A helpless look comes across Silva 's face. He knows he's trapped as Hung lands a series of unanswered strikes. The ref steps in to stop the fight and this one is in the books!
