Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Xxx Xxx (ranked 6765 p4p, 24528 weight class) and Vvv Vvv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vvv is defended easily by Xxx.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Xxx looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vvv scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Xxx manages to mount him!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Xxx landing strikes from the mount and Vvv is in trouble!
Xxx punching from mount but Vvv doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Xxx takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Xxx has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Xxx avoids the attempt from Vvv to control.

Xxx shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Vvv is trying to defend but Xxx finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vvv misses with an attempted mid kick.
Xxx jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Horrible takedown attempt by Vvv or perhaps it was just good defense by Xxx, which made it look bad.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Xxx goes for a double leg but Vvv avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vvv continues to drive forward.
Vvv replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Xxx blocks it well.

Vvv breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Vvv throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Xxx's waist but Xxx gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vvv off to one side.
Xxx went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Xxx.
Vvv steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Vvv keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xxx Xxx. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vvv fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Xxx throws a counter high kick but Vvv was just alert enough to avoid it.

Xxx dives in and grabs Vvv's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vvv pushes down on Xxx's head and hops out.
Vvv will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice takedown defense from Xxx. No joy for Vvv on that attempt.
Xxx throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Vvv thinks about the counter body kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Xxx enables Vvv to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Xxx manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Xxx tries to sprawl but Vvv drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Xxx desperately trying to maintain half guard.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Xxx.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vvv shoots in looking for a takedown. Xxx tries to sprawl out of it but Vvv keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Xxx manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Vvv appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Vvv looks for a takedown but Xxx sprawls well.
Xxx throws a quick counter kick to the body but Vvv avoids it.

Xxx closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Vvv's guard.
Vvv wants to get back to his feet but Xxx is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Vvv holds on and takes a little breather.
Xxx Xxx overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Xxx throwing strikes from guard but Vvv blocks nicely.
Vvv can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Xxx controls the pace.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Xxx Xxx.
Well Xxx has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
