Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Balal Lama (ranked 1573 p4p, 2939 weight class) and Oscar Meyer (ranked 226 p4p, 393 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Balal Lama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar Meyer!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lama throws a jab but it's blocked by Meyer.
Meyer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lama falls off balance throwing a combination
and Meyer counters with a big head kick but Lama shrugs it off.
Meyer has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Lama lands a nice looking body kick.
Meyer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lama paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Meyer counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Lama tries for a takedown. No joy.

Meyer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lama slaps away a takedown attempt from Meyer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lama misses with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lama dives in and scores a takedown into Meyer's guard.

Meyer has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Lama has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Meyer manages to break the clinch.
Lama throws a jab but it's blocked by Meyer.

Lama throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Meyer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lama is in Meyer's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Meyer throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Lama slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lama throws a strike but Meyer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Lama wants to get back to his feet but Meyer is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Meyer decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lama, up you get!
Lama fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lama throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Meyer.

Lama closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Meyer throws Lama to one side and escapes!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lama gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Meyer counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Balal Lama. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lama is breathing heavily.

Meyer has closed the distance and engaged Lama in a clinch.
Lama tries for a takedown but Meyer manages to get underhooks.
Meyer lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Lama rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Meyer counter with a right hand.
Lama throws a big shot that misses.
Meyer tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lama defends well and Meyer ends up having to push Lama into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Meyer slips a jab and a cross from Lama.
Meyer avoids the body shot from Lama.
Lama throws a looping overhand right but Meyer ducks down to avoid it.
Lama loads up on a big right hand but Meyer slips the punch.
Lama throws a one two combo.
A combination from Lama does no damage.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Meyer! But no joy.

Meyer rushes Lama and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Meyer prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Meyer avoiding damage.

Meyer manages to break the clinch.

Lama closes the distance and pushes Meyer back into the cage.
Lama working hard to break the clinch.

Meyer gets control of Lama's arms and successfully pulls guard. Meyer will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Meyer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lama's guard.

Meyer wants to control from the top but Lama keeps moving.

Lama pushes a forearm under Meyer's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Meyer is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Balal Lama!
An out of breath and clearly excited Balal Lama thanked Altitude Clothing for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
