These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nik dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Nik misses with a wild body shot.
OMalley misses with the combination.

OMalley drives through and clinches with Nik against the cage.

Nik escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

OMalley takes the fight into the clinch.
Nik lands a right hand.
Nik lands with a short head shot on the inside.
OMalley's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Nik stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
OMalley is trying to pull guard but Nik has him pressed against the cage.
Nik lands a shoulder strike.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
OMalley is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Nik pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Nik lands a body punch.
OMalley fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
OMalley fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Aleks Nik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conor OMalley.

Nik breaks from the clinch.
OMalley moves in looking to clinch but Nik pushes him off.

OMalley has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Nik finds it's way round the side to connect with OMalley's head.
Nik dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Nik lands a big right hand that sends OMalley crashing to the mat! Nik stays standing though and waves OMalley back to his feet!

OMalley tries for a takedown but Nik circles away easily
and Nik counters with a lovely shot to the body.

OMalley takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
OMalley seems to have recovered his senses.
OMalley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nik pinned against the cage. Nik gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

OMalley takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
OMalley takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
OMalley gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Nik gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
