Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kado Seyama (ranked 3783 p4p, 6601 weight class) and Malik Hooker (ranked 470 p4p, 672 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kado Seyama! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Malik Hooker! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Seyama throws a lazy head kick and Hooker moves into the clinch. Hooker jumps guard but Seyama turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Seyama is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hooker is defending well for now. Seyama tries to pull guard but Hooker won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. The referee is keeping an eye on Seyama - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Hooker goes for a takedown attempt but Seyama pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Seyama shoots in for a double leg but Hooker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Seyama throws a push kick but Hooker slaps the foot to one side. Horrible takedown attempt by Seyama or perhaps it was just good defense by Hooker, which made it look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kado Seyama. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hooker fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A counter left hand to the body from Seyama misses its target. Seyama swings and misses with a hook to the body.
It seemed like Hooker was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Hooker goes for a double leg but Seyama avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Seyama continues to drive forward. A head kick misses from Hooker. Nice takedown defense from Hooker. No joy for Seyama on that attempt. Hooker is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Hooker scores with a one two! Seyama had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Hooker scores with a jab to the body. Seyama is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Hooker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hooker showed some decent athleticism there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hooker is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Seyama defends it well. Seyama trying to control from the bottom.
Hooker is taking a breather. Seyama says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Seyama is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hooker scores with a couple of nice shots. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hooker seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Hooker looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Seyama gets full guard. Seyama working for a triangle but Hooker defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hooker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hooker is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hooker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Seyama working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hooker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hooker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hooker is stalling in the full guard. Hooker preventing the sweep. Hooker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hooker is stalling in the full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hooker lands strikes from half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Malik Hooker dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Hooker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Seyama defends it nicely. Seyama throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hooker shoots in and bounces Seyama off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Seyama pushes a forearm under Hooker's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hooker is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
