Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Angell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quince McCurley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCurley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Toby Mac-The Slam kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quince McCurley! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angell is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Angell forces McCurley back against the cage and clinches. Angell fails to pull guard.
McCurley wants to get back to striking at distance but Angell won't allow it.
Angell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Angell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McCurley as he jumps to the side. Angell has taken the fight to the clinch.

Angell just stands there and leans against the cage. Angell's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Angell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McCurley just stands there and leans against the cage. McCurley has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Angell avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. McCurley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Angell has picked McCurley up - he's going for a ride! Angell dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. McCurley trying to control but Angell postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McCurley can do anything to dispel that myth. McCurley is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Angell pulls his head out easily. Angell is breathing heavily. McCurley connecting with a few gentle strikes. Angell stands up out of the half guard. McCurley throws a low kick but it's checked well by Angell. Angell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McCurley but McCurley pushes him off and we're back to square one. Angell fails with the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCurley drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Angell tries to escape but McCurley is in control. Angell is not content to let McCurley control the position. Angell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McCurley on the ground. Angell wants to get back to his feet but McCurley drags him back down. McCurley scoring with punches from side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Angell is looking to clinch. McCurley is looking to take this fight into the clinch. McCurley is looking to clinch. Angell fails with the takedown and McCurley counters with a takedown into side control. McCurley in side control lands a decent elbow. Angell pushes McCurley away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McCurley gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. McCurley looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. McCurley tries to move into full mount but can't pass Angell's legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McCurley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Angell, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCurley tries to move to mount but Angell blocks the move with his legs. McCurley wants to control but Angell is keeping him busy. Angell takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
It looks like Nick Angell has been cut. McCurley cracks Angell with a big right hand but Angell just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Angell is not content to let McCurley control the position. McCurley working the head with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Quince McCurley dominated that round. The cut man is working on Nick Angell's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
McCurley scores with a takedown into Angell's guard. McCurley looking to pass the guard. McCurley missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. McCurley stands up and waves to Angell to follow him. Angell looks to clinch and McCurley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. McCurley wants to control from the top but Angell keeps moving. McCurley lands a couple of elbows. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McCurley content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. McCurley with a nice head shot there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McCurley working some strikes from top position. McCurley lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCurley passes easily into side control. Nice work. McCurley trying to control the position but Angell is working away. McCurley landing a few strikes. McCurley decides to stand back up. Angell tries to clinch but McCurley moves out of range. Nick Angell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A bone on bone clash there as Angell blocks the leg kick.
McCurley shoots in but no luck this time. Angell is looking to clinch but McCurley is avoiding it.
Angell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCurley moves in looking to clinch but Angell pushes him off. McCurley looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Angell has McCurley up against the cage in a clinch.

Angell keeping moving, preventing McCurley from controlling successfully. Angell is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Angell is looking to stand back up but McCurley counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Angell. Angell is not content to let McCurley control the position.

McCurley is looking to take a break and control but Angell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. McCurley advances nicely into full mount. McCurley lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
McCurley wants to control the pace but Angell is squirming around nicely. McCurley connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCurley jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Angell manages to avoid the submission attempt. Angell wants to get back to his feet but McCurley drags him back down. Angell is not content to let McCurley control the position. Angell bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Angell connects with a body shot. Angell closes the distance and clinches. Angell tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Quince McCurley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Nick Angell's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
McCurley fails to land the takedown. Angell looks to clinch and McCurley counters with a nice double leg into side control. Angell won't be happy with that. Angell is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Angell is not content to let McCurley control the position. Angell is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, McCurley asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCurley takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. McCurley has a takedown stuffed. Angell connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed McCurley momentarily.

Angell scores with a decent looking hook. Nick Angell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Angell throws a right and a left that both miss. Angell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McCurley manages to avoid it. Angell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McCurley but McCurley pushes him off and we're back to square one. McCurley wants to clinch up but Angell keeps it at a distance. Angell is looking to take this fight into the clinch. McCurley looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCurley passes to full mount! This has been an exciting period of action! McCurley tries to control but Angell wriggling away. McCurley looking to secure an arm triangle but Angell defends it well. McCurley in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Angell taking shots to the head. McCurley looking to control but Angell is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Angell is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Quince McCurley has got the better of the ground game so far. McCurley controlling his opponent. McCurley postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Angell looks a forlorn figure.

McCurley jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Angell is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Angell and McCurley has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Nick Angell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! McCurley scores with a couple of short elbows.
And that's the end of the fight! Quince McCurley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got McCurley winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
