Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ive Hadjinov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Micah Minnich! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hadjinov misses with a looping left. Minnich swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Nice defenses there by Minnich. Hadjinov avoids the body shot from Minnich.
An attempted straight right counter from Hadjinov misses the target. Minnich jabs at Hadjinov's body. Hadjinov avoids the body shot from Minnich.
Jab from Minnich. Hadjinov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Minnich has time to react. Hadjinov has his takedown stuffed enabling Minnich to counter with a crisp jab. Hadjinov throws an overhand right that lands on Minnich's shoulder, as Minnich tries to avoid the shot. Minnich steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hadjinov. Hadjinov fails to land with a series of punches.
Minnich staying out of range there. Hadjinov lands a really nice looking cross but Minnich seems unphased.
Minnich looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Minnich lands a right hook to the body.
Hadjinov is breathing heavily. Hadjinov scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Minnich dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Minnich scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Minnich throws out a powerful jab. Minnich moves into range and connects with a jab. Minnich staying out of range there. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Minnich! But no joy. Minnich lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Hadjinov falls backwards - clearly groggy! Minnich dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Micah Minnich! During a confident post fight interview, Micah Minnich thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. In defeat, Ive Hadjinov stepped up to the mic, saying 'You know, it's my first loss. Respect to my opponent, he did great. I'll be back and taking heads though.'.
