Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Garotinho (ranked 3106 p4p, 5717 weight class) and Willy Nilly (ranked 394 p4p, 599 weight class). Felipe Garotinho has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Felipe Garotinho! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Willy Nilly! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garotinho shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nilly manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Garotinho pushes down on Nilly's leg and manages to get into half guard. Nice strikes from Garotinho there. Garotinho looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Garotinho is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nilly sees it coming and defends easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nilly is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Garotinho controlling the pace. Garotinho is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Nilly has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garotinho is working for a submission of some sort.
Garotinho scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Garotinho is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Garotinho looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garotinho is nestled in close to Nilly, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Garotinho is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Nilly as he works his way to full guard.

Garotinho stands up over Nilly, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Garotinho is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Garotinho postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Garotinho stands and throws Nilly's legs to the side, diving into side control. Nilly can't do much from the bottom here. Garotinho scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nilly to see if he's OK.
It looks like Willy Nilly has been cut. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Nilly looks winded! Garotinho's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. He has the arm isolated but Nilly is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Garotinho controls the position from side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Felipe Garotinho dominated that round. The cut man is working on Willy Nilly's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Garotinho feints and as Nilly raises his hands in defense, Garotinho changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Garotinho showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Garotinho has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Garotinho with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Garotinho stays in close to Nilly's body and controls the position. Garotinho postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

That has opened up Willy Nilly's cut even more. Garotinho is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Garotinho has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nilly wants to control but Garotinho passes easily into half guard.
Garotinho perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Felipe Garotinho overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Garotinho tries to pass to full mount but Nilly defends it. Garotinho is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Nilly is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
