Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Conrad Killstrike (ranked 2902 p4p, 3701 weight class) and Ragnar Ragnarson (ranked 406 p4p, 492 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Conrad Killstrike! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ragnar Ragnarson! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ragnarson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Killstrike. Ragnarson slips under a jab from Killstrike. Killstrike swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ragnarson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ragnarson tries to bum rush Killstrike with a series of wild strikes but Killstrike uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Killstrike takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Killstrike throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Killstrike misses with a straight left. Killstrike checks the leg kick nicely there.
Killstrike scores with a sloppy right hand. Ragnarson should have avoided that one. Killstrike connects with a high kick. Ragnarson moves into the clinch successfully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Killstrike breaks the clinch.
Killstrike blocks a low kick nicely. Nice body kick from Killstrike. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Killstrike checks a leg kick. A lazy left from Ragnarson finds it's target. Ragnarson throws a head kick but Killstrike moves out of range.
Ragnarson misses with the combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Killstrike takes a body punch but keeps moving. Killstrike definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Ragnarson cracks Killstrike with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Killstrike misses with a straight right. Killstrike throws a lazy right hand but Ragnarson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ragnarson throws a combination that misses and Killstrike counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ragnarson's coach down at Champion Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ragnarson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Killstrike fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ragnarson. Killstrike looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Ragnarson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ragnarson lands a glancing blow to the side of Killstrike's head. A head kick by Ragnarson misses and Killstrike counters with a nice kick to the body. A head kick misses from Ragnarson. Killstrike takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Killstrike throws a right hand that Ragnarson ducks under and follows up with a left that Ragnarson also avoids with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Killstrike throws a half hearted mid kick. Ragnarson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Some wild striking there from Killstrike.
Ragnarson throws out a counter right but Killstrike avoids it with no problem. Killstrike bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Killstrike jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Killstrike throws a lazy body kick and Ragnarson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A solid body kick from Killstrike. Killstrike lands a lovely overhand right. Killstrike lands with a kick to the temple. Ragnarson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A head kick misses from Killstrike. Ragnarson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Killstrike closes the distance and lands a one-two. Killstrike scores with a sloppy right hand. Ragnarson should have avoided that one. Ragnarson misses with a two punch combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ragnarson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Killstrike throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Killstrike waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ragnarson. Decent striking displayed by Killstrike there. Killstrike works the jab nicely.
Ragnarson is rocked! Ragnarson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Killstrike counters with a head kick that drops Ragnarson to the mat! Ragnarson scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly! Ragnarson is still on wobbly legs! Can Killstrike finish him? Killstrike avoids a low kick by using good footwork. And Killstrike counters with a quick kick to the body but Ragnarson blocks it. Ragnarson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Killstrike circles away quickly and effectively. Ragnarson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Killstrike counters with a nice body kick.
Ragnarson looks winded! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Killstrike is pawing at Ragnarson, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Ragnarson's nose. Ragnarson is badly hurt! Killstrike pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Ragnarson tries desperately to hold on but Killstrike is relentless in his assault! As Ragnarson receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Killstrike away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Conrad Killstrike! Conrad Killstrike decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
