Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gautier Rochefort!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akhtar Assad!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rochefort shoots in but Assad avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rochefort changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Assad looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rochefort is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Assad knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Rochefort trying to control the action but Assad is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rochefort just content to control the position.
Rochefort tries for a kimura but Assad is defending well.
Rochefort has hold of Assad's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Assad tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Rochefort cranks the arm and Assad screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Assad, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
