This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 6 losses; Oenomaus Doctore! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 15 losses; Vartan Esteves!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Doctore has Esteves up against the ropes in a clinch.
Doctore jumps guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Esteves slips nicely into half guard.
Doctore is looking for a sweep. Esteves is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Esteves is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Doctore wants to improve his position but Esteves is controlling well.
Esteves keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Doctore's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Esteves seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Doctore does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Esteves is pressing down on Doctore's thigh, looking to free his foot. Doctore is holding on for now.

Doctore looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Esteves is defending well. Doctore quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Esteves has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Doctore celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
