Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Khasbulaev moves into the clinch. Kaneko fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Khasbulaev decides to pull guard. Kaneko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Khasbulaev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kaneko has managed to get both his arms back between Khasbulaev's legs - danger averted. Kaneko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kaneko stopping the sweep attempt from Khasbulaev. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Khasbulaev holds on and takes a little breather. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kaneko looking to pass the guard. Kaneko wants to control from the top but Khasbulaev keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khasbulaev is looking to cinch up a triangle. Kaneko throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Khasbulaev's body to avoid the submission. Khasbulaev has instead reached around Kaneko's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Khasbulaev arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
