And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 8 losses; Xandao Couceiro!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

McTavish is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Couceiro pulls his head out easily.

Couceiro is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McTavish defends it well.

Couceiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McTavish does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
McTavish is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Couceiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McTavish swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McTavish has his foot on Couceiro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Couceiro works his way back into a safe position though.
Couceiro sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McTavish's guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McTavish tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McTavish is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McTavish uses his free foot to push down on Couceiro's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Couceiro.

McTavish is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Couceiro to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Couceiro shrugs it off.
Couceiro is desperately trying to improve his position but McTavish has a good base and remains in mount.

McTavish prevents Couceiro from getting the reversal.

McTavish with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Couceiro tries to lock up and control but McTavish gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
McTavish is looking to work his way around to Couceiro's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

McTavish has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Couceiro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

McTavish is stalling here. Couceiro is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! McTavish seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Couceiro has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

A very excited looking Xandao Couceiro rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
