Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Jamin (ranked 3251 p4p, 3036 weight class) and Magomed Magomedov (ranked 414 p4p, 385 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Jamin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Magomed Magomedov! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Magomedov tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jamin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Magomedov won't be happy with that. We've been hearing good reports from Jamin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Magomedov defending against the ground and pound. Jamin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Magomedov is pushing Jamin's head away, looking to escape. Jamin manages to hold on to the position though. Jamin wants to control but Magomedov is keeping him busy. Magomedov is trying to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magomedov parries the strikes from Jamin easily there. Jamin is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Magomedov to escape.
Magomedov is pushing Jamin's head away, looking to escape. Jamin manages to hold on to the position though. Jamin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Magomedov wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The strikes coming from Jamin are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Magomedov tries to escape but Jamin is in control. Jamin is looking to take a break and control but Magomedov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Jamin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Magomedov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jamin is controlling him well.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Magomedov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Magomedov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jamin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Magomedov somewhat. Jamin feinted with a counter takedown. Magomedov throws a series of punches but Jamin avoids them all with ease.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Magomedov gets a clinch. Jamin has picked Magomedov up - he's going for a ride! Jamin dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Jamin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jamin trying to control from half guard but Magomedov is working away. Magomedov is trying to stand back up but Jamin is controlling him
Jamin thows a huge punch but Magomedov dodges it nicely.
Jamin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Magomedov can do anything to dispel that myth. Jamin not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jamin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Magomedov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Magomedov is staying active underneath Jamin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Magomedov jabbing away but nothing is landing. Magomedov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jamin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jamin trying to keep a closed guard but Magomedov is proving a slippery customer.
Magomedov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jamin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ben Jamin will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Jamin stuffs the takedown attempt from Magomedov. Magomedov gets slowly back to his feet. Magomedov manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jamin on his heels. He'll look to pass Jamin's guard now, I'm sure. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Magomedov missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Magomedov trying to control the position from guard on top but Jamin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Magomedov throws a strike but Jamin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magomedov manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Jamin stops a takedown attempt from Magomedov.
Jamin gets a trip takedown into half guard. Jamin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Jamin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Magomedov pushes Jamin off looking to stand but Jamin dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Magomedov tries to kick Jamin off in order to stand up. Jamin Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Jamin landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jamin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Magomedov, who protects the arm well. Magomedov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jamin is controlling him well. Magomedov managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Jamin.

This has been an exciting period of action! Jamin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Magomedov keeps working. Magomedov is trying to get back to his feet. Magomedov takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Magomedov is pushing Jamin's head away, looking to escape. Jamin manages to hold on to the position though.

Jamin throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Magomedov works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Magomedov is trying to stand back up but Jamin is controlling him

Jamin throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Magomedov to regain full guard. Jamin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Magomedov is looking to stand up but Jamin isn't so interested in that idea. Jamin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Magomedov can do to turn this around? Jamin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jamin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Magomedov for as long as he can get away with. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Magomedov has his takedown stuffed and Jamin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Magomedov kicks off Jamin and gets to his feet. Magomedov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jamin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Magomedov somewhat.

Jamin leaves Magomedov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jamin changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Magomedov shoots in and drives through. Jamin sprawls well. Jamin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Magomed Magomedov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Magomedov has a takedown stuffed. Jamin feinted with a counter takedown. Magomedov shoots in and drives through. Jamin sprawls well. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Magomedov misses with the body kick and Jamin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! Ben Jamin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jamin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
