Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Penduko (ranked 4654 p4p, 4651 weight class) and Alexaner Brooks (ranked 562 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pedro Penduko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alexaner Brooks! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Winston Howard and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penduko shoots for a double leg takedown but Brooks sprawls well. He's pushed Penduko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Brooks moves into the clinch successfully.
Brooks is defending well against a takedown attempt. Brooks lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Penduko fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Brooks to the ground. Penduko is now in Brooks's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Penduko's corner is telling him to maintain position. Penduko has gone for a leg lock! Brooks slips out almost immediately though and dives into Penduko's guard.

Penduko on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Penduko tries to get out of the position. Brooks sitting in guard, not really doing much. Brooks wants to control from the top but Penduko keeps moving. Brooks looking to sit in guard and control but Penduko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Brooks is looking to stand up but Penduko isn't so interested in that idea. Brooks has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Penduko is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Brooks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A battle for position here, against the cage. Penduko tries to circle away but Brooks has him pinned against the cage. Penduko successfully pulls guard.

Brooks might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Penduko haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Brooks slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brooks pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Penduko is keeping the position for now. Penduko keeping moving, preventing Brooks from controlling successfully. Brooks looking to pass the guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Penduko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Penduko works to advance to full mount. Brooks defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Brooks's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Penduko punishing his opponent with strikes. Penduko fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Alexaner Brooks dominated that round. That's time! Penduko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Penduko fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brooks sprawls well initially but Penduko persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Penduko is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Still in half guard, Penduko seems content to control. Penduko working over Brooks with some ground and pound. Brooks looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Alexaner Brooks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round! Some wild striking there from Brooks.

Brooks working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Penduko. Penduko trying to control the position from guard on top but Brooks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brooks can't keep his opponent in guard - Penduko advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Penduko drops an elbow to the side of Brooks's head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brooks has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Penduko is on him like a limpet, forcing Brooks back against the cage. Pedro Penduko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alexaner Brooks is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brooks managing to block the knees to the body from Penduko.
And that's the end of the fight! Alexaner Brooks comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Brooks winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
