Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leon Danielson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zac Crawford! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crawford closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Danielson did well to prevent Crawford getting side control. Crawford prevents Danielson from standing back up.
Danielson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Crawford manages to mount him!
Crawford thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Crawford with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Danielson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Danielson tries to get out of the position. Danielson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The referee warns Danielson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Crawford tries to control but Danielson wriggling away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Crawford scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Danielson wants to get back to his feet.
Crawford jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Danielson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Danielson and Crawford has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Crawford has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Crawford thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Crawford decides to stand up, so the ref orders Danielson to his feet. Crawford throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Danielson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Crawford is in Danielson's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Danielson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Crawford is standing up over Danielson. Danielson looks to escape but Crawford dives into side control.
Crawford has hold of Danielson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Danielson seems comfortable defending it but Crawford has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Danielson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Danielson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Crawford couldn't care less - he's delighted!
