PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Himayalan Cheetah (ranked 6237 p4p, 5795 weight class) and Victor Higgins (ranked 572 p4p, 542 weight class). Higgins is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Actin' Crazy by Action Bronson. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Himayalan Cheetah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Victor Higgins!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Higgins has managed to clinch.
Cheetah is trying to maintain a safe position but Higgins gets an underhook and turns Cheetah into the ropes.
Higgins lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Cheetah backwards.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Cheetah is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

Cheetah escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cheetah has closed the distance and engaged Higgins in a clinch.

Cheetah pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cheetah tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Higgins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Some wild striking there from Higgins.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Higgins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cheetah circles away quickly and effectively.
Higgins takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Cheetah tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Cheetah wants to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cheetah connects with a body shot that sends Higgins's belly button to the back.
Higgins throws a right and a left that Cheetah avoids nicely.
Higgins wants to clinch.
Victor Higgins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Higgins misses with a double jab

and Cheetah counters with a right, a left and a big uppercut that drops Higgins to the mat! Cheetah runs to a neutral corner to get the count going quickly. 3,4,5,6 and Higgins is back to his feet. He seems ready to continue - the ref agrees so we're back at it!
Higgins looks winded!

Cheetah darts in and clinches Higgins up against the ropes.
Cheetah landing knees to the head.

Cheetah's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Himayalan Cheetah is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Higgins is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Higgins avoids a punch combination nicely.
Higgins is still on wobbly legs! Can Cheetah finish him?
A kick lands to the mid section there for Cheetah.

Cheetah fails with an attempt to clinch.

Cheetah moves into the clinch.
Higgins seems to have recovered his senses.
Cheetah's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Cheetah escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cheetah dodges the punch combination from Higgins.
Cheetah steps in and throws a big head kick that drops Higgins to the mat! Higgins looks in trouble, can he beat the count? Cheetah is bouncing in a neutral corner joining in with the referee '4,5,6' they both chant. 7,8,9... he's not going to make it! 10! He's out! Cheetah jumps onto the ropes and takes in the acclaim from the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Himayalan Cheetah!
