Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Balinko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kshymensky Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ray Balinko had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray Balinko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kshymensky Kowalski! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balinko moves forwards but Kowalski connects with a nice, crisp jab.
It looks like Ray Balinko has been cut. Balinko scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Kowalski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Balinko gets a clinch. Balinko keeps control of Kowalski as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Balinko landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Knees in the clinch landing for Balinko.
Balinko is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Kowalski is trying to break the clinch but Balinko has him pressed against the cage. Balinko with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Kowalski looking for a takedown. Balinko breaks the clinch.

Kowalski throws a head kick that misses and Balinko makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kowalski really felt that one! Kowalski looks gassed! Kowalski misses with a combination
and Balinko counters with a slapping leg kick. Balinko throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Balinko lands a two punch combo.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Balinko.
Balinko shoots in and bounces Kowalski off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Balinko stands and steps away. Kowalski gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balinko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Kowalski really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Balinko avoids the attempt from Kowalski to control. Balinko unloading with bombs! Balinko lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Kowalski is in a horrible position here. Balinko smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Balinko wants to control the pace but Kowalski is squirming around nicely. Kowalski wants to hold on but Balinko pushes him away. Balinko punishing his opponent with strikes. Kowalski is trying to escape the mount.
Balinko connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Balinko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kowalski blocking the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balinko prevents Kowalski from getting the reversal. Kowalski squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Balinko landing punches. Balinko cracks Kowalski with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Kowalski's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kowalski tries to hold on but Balinko postures up. Kowalski is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Balinko with a couple of short strikes. Balinko landing punches. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Balinko trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kowalski tries to reverse the position but Balinko maintains control. Balinko pushes Kowalski away with a front kick. Kowalski looks to throw the jab but Balinko is out of range. Balinko lands a two punch combo.
Balinko gets a takedown into half guard. Kowalski is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Balinko's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Balinko's back! Balinko manages to escape to his feet. Kowalski clinches up with Balinko and pushes him back against the cage. Kowalski is looking to break free of the clinch but Balinko has double underhooks. Kowalski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kowalski darts in trying to clinch and Balinko counters with a nice kick to the body. Kowalski tries to bum rush Balinko with a series of wild strikes but Balinko uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kowalski misses with the combination.
Kowalski decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Balinko has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kowalski is working away from the top position though. The fighters are battling for position here. Balinko manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kowalski won't allow Balinko to sweep him here. Kowalski sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Balinko's guard. Kowalski stops Balinko from getting back to his feet.
Balinko pushes Kowalski off but Kowalski dives into side control.
Kowalski stands up and beckons Balinko to his feet. Kowalski connects with a right hand. Balinko shakes it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Kowalski looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kowalski missing with a left hand there. Balinko was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Balinko clinches up against the cage. Kowalski is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Kowalski wants to break free but Balinko has control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kowalski wants to clinch up but Balinko keeps it at a distance. Balinko looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kowalski! Balinko dominating with strikes here. Balinko tries to control but Kowalski wriggling away. Balinko moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kowalski has worked his arm free - good work by Kowalski!
Kowalski sneaks back into half guard. Well, if Balinko is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

A close second round but Kshymensky Kowalski will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Ray Balinko's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Nice uppercut lands for Kowalski. That snapped Balinko's head back.
Balinko fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kowalski tries to bum rush Balinko with a series of wild strikes but Balinko uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kowalski gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kowalski utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kowalski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Balinko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kowalski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Balinko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Balinko gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kowalski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kowalski is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Kowalski shoots in for a double leg but Balinko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kowalski looks to land a right hand but Balinko moved out of range. Excellent takedown into side control there by Kowalski. Balinko is looking to reverse the position. Balinko explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Kowalski keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ray Balinko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Balinko takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Kowalski throws a series of punches but Balinko moves out of range. A cross from Kowalski lands. Balinko avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Balinko shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Balinko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kowalski connects with a body shot. Kowalski gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Balinko will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Balinko stands up from guard. Let's bang! Kowalski wants to clinch and Balinko counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kowalski's knee momentarily. Balinko moves into range and clinches up with Kowalski. Kowalski has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Balinko tries to land knees in the clinch but Kowalski avoids the damage to the body. Balinko drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kowalski walks forward, straight into a front kick from Balinko. Kowalski keeps the fight on the outside. Balinko misses with a few strikes there.

Kowalski has had enough of the clinch but Balinko keeps him there for the moment. Balinko throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kowalskis head. Balinko using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Balinko has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kowalski had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Balinko is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kowalski Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Balinko's back instead. Kowalski looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Balinko is controlling Kowalski 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Balinko stops Kowalski from standing up. Kowalski keeping full guard, as Balinko tries to pass. Balinko loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kowalski kicks Balinko off and gets to his feet. Balinko decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ground and pound from Balinko.
And that's the end of the fight! Ray Balinko showed his dominance in that final round. Well Balinko has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
