Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evert Hermans (ranked 4846 p4p, 4955 weight class) and Benjamin Shields (ranked 167 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hermans avoids the head kick by Shields.
Hermans lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Shields tries to clinch but Hermans moves away
and Hermans counters with a crisp one two that drops Shields! Hermans thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Shields to his feet! Shields is in big trouble!

Hermans throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Shields fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hermans misses with a few strikes there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hermans slips a nice elbow through Shields's hands, connecting with Shields's forehead.

Hermans looks up at the clock and then as Shields takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hermans smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
