Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fanaki Fukawa (ranked 25404 p4p, 4300 weight class) and Joao Perez (ranked 348 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perez gets a clinch.
Fukawa wants to break the clinch but can't.
Fukawa is trying to push Perez away but Perez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Perez wants the takedown. Fukawa is fighting it off but Perez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Fukawa's guard against the cage.
Fukawa is looking to stand back up but Perez counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Fukawa.
Fukawa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perez on the ground.

Perez wants to pass to mount but Fukawa is defending the position.
Fukawa avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Perez.
Perez with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Perez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fukawa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fukawa wants to get back to his feet.
Perez moves nicely into side control.
Fukawa wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
You can see the frustration on Fukawa's face as Perez controls the position.

Perez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Perez fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
