Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Quandale Goofy (ranked 3726 p4p, 3365 weight class) and Island Black Bear (ranked 483 p4p, 448 weight class). Quandale Goofy had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Quandale Goofy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Island Black Bear!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Goofy tries to sprawl but Black Bear drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Black Bear content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Black Bear is nestled in close to Goofy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Still in half guard, Black Bear seems content to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Goofy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Black Bear stalling.
Goofy tries to get to full guard but Black Bear has control of the leg.
Goofy won't allow Black Bear to pass to mount.
Goofy wants to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Black Bear in particular looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Black Bear tries to score a power double leg takedown but Goofy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Black Bear somewhat.
Goofy attempts a counter takedown but Black Bear avoids it well and moves away.
Goofy blocks a low kick nicely.
Goofy doesn't manage to clinch there - Black Bear circles away.

Black Bear closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Goofy quickly recovers to half guard.
Black Bear seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Black Bear prevents Goofy from improving his position.
Black Bear should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Goofy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Black Bear is working away from the top position though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Black Bear in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Goofy pushes Black Bear off looking to stand but Black Bear dives back in and keeps control.
Black Bear takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Goofy is trying to maintain the position but Black Bear is very close to passing his half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Black Bear will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Black Bear rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Goofy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Black Bear is staying tight to Goofy's torso, preventing him from escaping.
You can see the frustration on Goofy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Goofy tries to buck Black Bear off but Black Bear is having none of it.
Black Bear remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That's time! Goofy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

It looks like Island Black Bear has been cut.

Black Bear fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Goofy to the ground. Black Bear is now in Goofy's guard.
Goofy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Quandale Goofy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Black Bear is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

That was a close second round but I would say that Quandale Goofy will probably get the nod.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Black Bear takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Black Bear working over Goofy with some ground and pound. Goofy looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Black Bear looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Goofy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Black Bear working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Well, if Black Bear is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Black Bear seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Quandale Goofy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Island Black Bear.

Goofy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Goofy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Black Bear takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Black Bear's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Black Bear uses his free foot to push down on Goofy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Goofy.

Black Bear lands a big shot there that rocks Goofy but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
