Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nuri Jafar (ranked 2669 p4p, 2345 weight class) and Moto Miyashita (ranked 272 p4p, 244 weight class). Moto Miyashita has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 35 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nuri Jafar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Moto Miyashita! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Francis DeMontford and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jafar lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Miyashita at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jafar is defended easily by Miyashita. Jafar ducks under a wild hook from Miyashita. Jafar avoids the body shot from Miyashita.
Jafar with a nice cross. Miyashita looks to score with a jab to the body but Jafar is just out of range. It looked like Jafar was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Miyashita. Jafar lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Miyashita uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jafar. Decent striking displayed by Miyashita there. Jafar is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Miyashita. A big right from Jafar misses. Miyashita ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Miyashita slips under a jab. Miyashita staying out of range there. Moto Miyashita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Miyashita bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Jafar gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jafar lands a slapping body shot.

That was a close round but I would say that Nuri Jafar will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Jafar takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Miyashita gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jafar counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Jafar gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jafar has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Miyashita trying to control but Jafar is working from the bottom. Miyashita postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jafar can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Miyashita controls the pace. Miyashita postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jafar is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Miyashita, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jafar wants to get up but he can't break Miyashita's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jafar trying to control but Miyashita is working from the bottom. Miyashita not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jafar tries to pass to full mount but Miyashita defends it. Miyashita wants to improve his position but Jafar is controlling well.

Jafar content to control rather than advance. Jafar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Nuri Jafar dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Miyashita takes a swing at Jafar's ribcage but misses. Jafar is looking to clinch. Miyashita moves away from the strike by Jafar. Jafar throws a body punch but Miyashita moves out of range. Miyashita bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Miyashita changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jafar tries to avoid it but Miyashita manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jafar to the ground. Jafar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jafar misses with a body shot.

Miyashita uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jafar. Miyashita has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jafar takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Miyashita shoots in looking for a takedown but Jafar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Miyashita's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Miyashita is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Jafar rather than just go for the knockout. Miyashita throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Miyashita manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Miyashita is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jafar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miyashita swivels though and keeps the full guard. Miyashita trying to control the position.
