Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Jefry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuji Konishi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Yuji Konishi enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andy Jefry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuji Konishi! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Konishi moves into the clinch. A nice glancing elbow lands by Jefry. Konishi missing with knees to the body.

Konishi is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jefry can't fight it off and eventually Konishi manages to take the fight to the floor. Jefry looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jefry wants to control the position but Konishi says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Jefry is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jefry is trying to maintain the position but Konishi is very close to passing his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jefry could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jefry tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Konishi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Konishi. Konishi pulls guard successfully.
Konishi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jefry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Konishi wants to get back to his feet but Jefry is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jefry looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jefry slips nicely into half guard. Konishi is trying to stand back up but Jefry is controlling him

Konishi trying to get back to full guard but Jefry takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Konishi regains half guard. Jefry seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Konishi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Konishi can do anything to dispel that myth. Jefry wants to lay and pray for a moment but Konishi keeps working. Konishi gets full guard. Konishi looks gassed! Jefry seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Konishi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jefry is controlling the pace.

Konishi wants to get back to full guard. Jefry controlling the action here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yuji Konishi dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Konishi circles away from the clinch attempt and Konishi counters by clinching up. Konishi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Andy Jefry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jefry wants to clinch but Konishi slips to the side and Konishi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jefry won't be happy with that. Jefry prevents Konishi from improving position. Jefry struggling a bit here. Jefry sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Jefry is positioning himself well to prevent Konishi advancing to mount.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Andy Jefry just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Jefry wants to clinch and Konishi counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Konishi blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Konishi lands an elbow just above Jefry 's eye. Konishi managing to block the knees to the body from Jefry.

Jefry gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Konishi.
Konishi goes for a takedown attempt but Jefry pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jefry darts in trying to clinch and Konishi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jefry's guard. Jefry working a defensive guard here.
Jefry is really struggling to control Konishi but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Konishi controlling from the top position. Jefry trying to keep a closed guard but Konishi is proving a slippery customer.

A head kick misses from Konishi. Konishi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jefry pinned against the cage. Jefry gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Andy Jefry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuji Konishi. Jefry darts in trying to clinch and Konishi counters with a shoot takedown. Jefry fights it but they end up in guard.

Jefry lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Konishi! Konishi is squirming around, avoiding Jefry's attempts to control the action. Konishi manages to regain half guard. Good work. Jefry throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Konishi is trying to control but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jefry seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Konishi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jefry's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jefry's back! Konishi looking to break Jefry's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Jefry remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Konishi will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Konishi misses with punches from the back. Konishi throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Jefry looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Will Konishi go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jefry can't escape the position.

Yuji Konishi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Konishi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jefry's waist but Jefry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Konishi off to one side. Jefry looks to clinch and Konishi counters by clinching up. Konishi stalling in the clinch.

Konishi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jefry keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Andy Jefry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuji Konishi. Jefry tries to clinch and Konishi moves into the clinch. Jefry misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Konishi.

Konishi is trying to break the clinch but Jefry has him pressed against the cage. Konishi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jefry walks away with a smile on his face. Konishi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jefry is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jefry tries to clinch there but Konishi circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Konishi wants to control but Jefry is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jefry wants to take a breather but Konishi is having none of it. Konishi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jefry controlling the action here. Konishi is staying active underneath Jefry, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jefry fails in his attempt to clinch. Konishi clinches with his opponent.
Jefry looks to throw an elbow but misses. Konishi blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Konishi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Konishi gets a clinch. Konishi has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jefry regains guard immediately. Jefry is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jefry is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Konishi! Andy Jefry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Yuji Konishi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jefry prevents Konishi from getting the reversal.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andy Jefry. Well Konishi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
