Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shay Walsh (ranked 3094 p4p, 4721 weight class) and Marc Johnson (ranked 317 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shay Walsh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marc Johnson! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walsh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Walsh throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Johnson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Walsh tries to clinch but Johnson moves away and Johnson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Walsh falls off balance throwing a combination
and Johnson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Walsh moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off. Walsh thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Johnson if he has to take too many more of those.
Johnson cracks Walsh with an open hand slap. Walsh throws a combination that misses and Johnson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Walsh. Nice uppercut there from Johnson. Johnson blocks the body kick.
Walsh scores with a head kick. Johnson tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Walsh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Johnson now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Walsh has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Johnson finds it's way round the side to connect with Walsh's head. Walsh tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Walsh looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Danga de danga de dang - Johnson scores with a four punch combination! Johnson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Walsh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Johnson stuns Walsh with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Johnson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Johnson looks like he wants to counter punch here. Shay Walsh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johnson cracks a nice hook into Walsh's ribs. Johnson works the jab nicely. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Marc Johnson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. A combination from Johnson does no damage. Johnson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Johnson slips a jab and a cross from Walsh.

Walsh throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Johnson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Walsh takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Marc Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Walsh will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
