Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ispa Mfer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mawvin Vetorwee!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Vetorwee with that takedown attempt.
Mfer is looking to counter punch.
Vetorwee gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mfer counters with a nice uppercut.
Vetorwee is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mfer's half guard.
Mfer has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Vetorwee is on him like a limpet, forcing Mfer back against the cage.
Vetorwee has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mfer after a bit of a struggle.
Ispa Mfer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mawvin Vetorwee.
Vetorwee is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Mfer breaks from the clinch.
Vetorwee fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mfer half committed to a counter leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vetorwee is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Vetorwee shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mfer as he jumps to the side.
Mfer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
As Vetorwee looks to move away, Mfer throws a big counter combo but Vetorwee just gets out of the way.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vetorwee misses with a takedown
and Mfer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Vetorwee shoots for a takedown but Mfer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A little feinted left hand from Mfer on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Vetorwee with a lazy takedown attempt
and Mfer counters with an outside leg kick.
Vetorwee with a poor takedown
letting Mfer counter with a right hand.
Vetorwee closes the distance and clinches up with Mfer, looking for a takedown. Vetorwee pushes Mfer against the cage but Mfer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Vetorwee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mfer was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Vetorwee closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mfer circles away.
Mfer is looking to counter with head kicks.
Mfer is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Vetorwee doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mfer counters with a crisp right hand that drops Vetorwee! Mfer lets Vetorwee back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Vetorwee is rocked!
Vetorwee looks winded!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mfer cracks Vetorwee's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Vetorwee slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Mfer can do further damage! This one is done, son!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ispa Mfer!
Ispa Mfer retains his featherweight title!
In defeat, Mawvin Vetorwee stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'd check ova ya shouldah kid'.
