Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Walker (ranked 4951 p4p, 25356 weight class) and Wesly Boom (ranked 594 p4p, 746 weight class). The key to victory for Tommy Walker has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tommy Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wesly Boom!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker looks to score with a jab to the body but Boom is just out of range.
Boom throws a right hand that Walker ducks under and follows up with a left that Walker also avoids with ease.
Walker throws the left hand but Boom avoids the punch easily.

Boom scores with a takedown into Walker's guard.
Boom is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Boom working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker trying to keep a closed guard but Boom is proving a slippery customer.
Boom controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Boom connects with a couple of short punches.
Boom has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad The Island. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Boom seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Boom darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Boom thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Boom trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Boom postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Walker looks a forlorn figure.
Walker is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Boom working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Walker slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Boom content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Boom is looking to advance position but Walker won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boom throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Boom perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Walker looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Boom throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Walker on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Walker tries to get out of the position.

Boom ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Walker moves away.
Boom misses with a takedown
and Walker counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Boom winds up and cracks Walker with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Boom takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Boom is trying to control the action in half guard but Walker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boom stalling.
Boom's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Boom is continuing to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Tommy Walker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sloppy strikes from Walker. Those never looked like landing.
Boom lands a slapping body shot.

Boom connects with a single shot there.

Boom drives through with a takedown into Walker's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Boom won't allow Walker to get back to his feet.
Boom is stalling in the full guard.
Boom chips away with some ground and pound.

Boom seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Walker is looking to stand back up but Boom counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Walker.

Wesly Boom showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Boom lands a right hook to the body.
Boom looks for the body kick but Walker saw that one coming.
Boom misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Walker.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Boom. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Walker misses the shot to the body.
Boom tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Boom closes the distance and pushes Walker back into the cage.

Boom has clasped his hands together around Walker's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Boom just content to control the position.
Let's hope that Boom has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Boom wants to control but Walker is keeping him busy.
Boom works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Boom tries to move to mount but Walker blocks the move with his legs.
The strikes coming from Boom are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Boom trying to control the position but Walker is working away.
Walker takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Walker taking punishment in the form of punches.
Boom is looking to take a break and control but Walker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boom misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Walker stops Boom from passing to mount.

Boom is trying to get an arm triangle but Walker is defending well.
Tommy Walker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boom connects with a looping right hand.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Walker paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Boom tries to bum rush Walker with a series of wild strikes but Walker uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Walker fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Boom looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Boom misses with a double jab.
It looked like Walker wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Walker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Boom counters with a single leg into guard. Walker didn't expect that.
Boom looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
Wesly Boom comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Boom has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
