Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Noel Brown (ranked 1605 p4p, 2252 weight class) and Ryder Stephens (ranked 211 p4p, 279 weight class). Ryder Stephens has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryder Stephens!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Brown ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Brown no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Stephens pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Brown is keeping the position for now.
Stephens with a flurry of punches that miss.
Brown keeping moving, preventing Stephens from controlling successfully.
Stephens slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Brown tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stephens wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stephens has control of Brown's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Brown regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Stephens is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Brown is in real trouble.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
