Rhodes has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Penrose swings for the body but Rhodes moves out of range.
Penrose thuds his right hand into Rhodes's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Penrose fires out a quick counter leg kick but Rhodes just manages to avoid it.

Penrose swats away the attempt to clinch by Rhodes.
Penrose quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rhodes walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Rhodes is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Penrose had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
