Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wingers Son!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rudy Beckwith!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Son moves into the clinch.
Beckwith prevents a body shot from Son.
A head punch on the inside from Son fails to land.
Son misses with a short punch on the inside.
Son tries to work over Beckwith's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Beckwith jumps guard and drags Son to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Son has gone for a leg lock! Beckwith slips out almost immediately though and dives into Son's guard.

Beckwith pushes down on Son's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Beckwith has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Beckwith jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Son is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Son and Beckwith has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Beckwith tries to advance position but instead Son slips a leg back in to half guard.
Son is looking to control Beckwith's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Son avoid being mounted?
Beckwith moves into full mount! Son won't be happy about that!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Son is squirming around, avoiding Beckwith's attempts to control the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Son tries to improve his position but Beckwith has taken his back! Beckwith has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Son tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Beckwith pushes Son away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rudy Beckwith!
