The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Werhooven takes a swing at Ripper's ribcage but misses.
We've been informed that Ripper has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Werhooven fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ripper.
Ripper throws a poor cross that misses
and Werhooven counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Brian Ripper has been cut.
Werhooven slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Werhooven misses with a looping left.
Ripper misses with a left hand
and Werhooven counters with a slapping leg kick.
Ripper swings widly with a right hand
and Werhooven counters with a perfect left hook, dropping Ripper to the canvas. He tries to get back up quickly but his equilibrium is all over the place! He's up... he's back down again! There's no need for a count as the referee calls off the bout!
