Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donny Sims (ranked 6439 p4p, 23471 weight class) and Greg Bustack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Greg Bustack!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bustack tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sims manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Sims gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bustack drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Sims manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Bustack drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sims manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bustack has Sims in his guard.

Sims controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sims with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sims jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Bustack is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Bustack and Sims has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Sims is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bustack is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sims is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Bustack's shoulder. That is not cool.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Sims moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Bustack tries to clinch but Sims is having none of it.

Sims shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bustack's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bustack manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Bustack drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bustack is trying to drag Sims to the mat but Sims just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Sims pulls Bustack into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sims is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bustack can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sims controls the pace.

Sims wants to pass the guard but Bustack is keeping the position.

Sims is working Bustack over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Sims drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sims jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sims stays in close to Bustack's body and controls the position.

Sims gets to his feet. Bustack looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Sims ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sims no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Bustack has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sims is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Sims lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bustack down.

Sims seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bustack for as long as he can get away with.

Sims has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Sims is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bustack can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Sims stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Greg Bustack is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Sims is trying to trip Bustack. He has hold of a leg but Bustack is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sims persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Sims gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Sims closes the distance and clinches.

Bustack is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sims is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bustack to the mat. Bustack regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
