Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Niall Ferguson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Josiah Harlan!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Ferguson misses
and Harlan counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Harlan on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Ferguson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Harlan.
Niall Ferguson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ferguson misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Harlan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Niall Ferguson has been cut.
Harlan misses with a looping right.
Harlan connects with a looping right hand.
Harlan throws a body shot but no joy.
Harlan ducks under a wild hook from Ferguson.
Ferguson throws a hook but Harlan avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ferguson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Harlan.
Ferguson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Harlan counters with a left to the body.
Ferguson misses with a straight right.
Harlan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ferguson.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ferguson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Ferguson instigates a clinch.
Harlan lands a shoulder strike.
Ferguson misses with a body punch.
Harlan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ferguson closes the distance but Harlan moves to the side
and Harlan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Harlan connects with a body shot that sends Ferguson's belly button to the back.
Ferguson throws a sloppy body shot
and Harlan counters with a huge left! Ferguson is in big trouble! He's backing up but Harlan isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Ferguson from any more damage. A dominating finish by Harlan!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josiah Harlan!
