The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abashidze jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Seigel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Abashidze.
Seigel wants to counter with a clinch but Abashidze pushes him away.

Seigel takes the fight into the clinch.

Seigel fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Abashidze looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Seigel is not content to let Abashidze control the position.
Abashidze postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Abashidze tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Seigel parries the strikes from Abashidze easily there. Abashidze is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Seigel to escape.
Seigel avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Abashidze.

Seigel is not content to let Abashidze control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Seigel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Abashidze. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Abashidze loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Seigel scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Abashidze land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Abashidze stands and salutes the crowd.
