Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wally Kruschev (ranked 764 p4p, 2092 weight class) and Thorvald Nansen (ranked 104 p4p, 262 weight class). Kruschev's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Pissed Off and Mad About it (Texas Hippie Coalition). Nansen has chosen Benny Jamz - Torden as his entrance music. Thorvald Nansen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nansen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kruschev feints a jab promting Nansen to slip. Kruschev then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nansen slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Nansen shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Kruschev fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nansen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nansen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kruschev lands with a kick to the temple. Nansen shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Kruschev fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Nansen.

Kruschev walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Nansen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Nansen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kruschev finds it's way round the side to connect with Nansen's head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Nansen might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Kruschev has got the better of the exchanges.

Nansen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kruschev to the ground. Nansen is now in Kruschev's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Nansen has gone for a leg lock! Kruschev slips out almost immediately though and dives into Nansen's guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Nansen holds on and takes a little breather.

Kruschev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nansen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kruschev has managed to get both his arms back between Nansen's legs - danger averted.

Kruschev walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Nansen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Nansen feints and then cracks Kruschev's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kruschev down.
Kruschev fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nansen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nansen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kruschev has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kruschev and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
