Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Prince McVicker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danylo Belenuik!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McVicker moves into the clinch successfully.
Belenuik tries to pull guard but McVicker holds him up against the cage and eventually Belenuik drops back down to his feet.

Belenuik is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Prince McVicker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danylo Belenuik.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McVicker is trying to trip Belenuik. He has hold of a leg but Belenuik is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. McVicker persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Belenuik is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McVicker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Belenuik swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McVicker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Belenuik's guard.

McVicker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Belenuik is looking for a sweep. McVicker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

McVicker drops an elbow to the side of Belenuik's head.

McVicker is pressing down on Belenuik's thigh, looking to free his foot. Belenuik is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McVicker cracks Belenuik with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

McVicker is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Belenuik to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Belenuik shrugs it off.
Belenuik is still in real trouble! Can McVicker finish him?

McVicker takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

McVicker is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

McVicker keeps the fight on the outside.
It looked like McVicker wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
McVicker misses the shot to the body.

McVicker loads up on a big right hand but Belenuik slips the punch.

McVicker swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

McVicker is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Belenuik.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McVicker swings for the body but Belenuik moves out of range.

McVicker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Prince McVicker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McVicker wants to take a breather but Belenuik is having none of it.

Belenuik darts in looking for a takedown but McVicker gets double underhooks and turns Belenuik into the cage.

McVicker throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McVicker connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McVicker lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Belenuik has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Belenuik and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Belenuik has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McVicker is working away from the top position though.
Belenuik is looking for a sweep. McVicker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Belenuik wants to control but McVicker is keeping busy and won't allow it.
McVicker passes to full mount!

McVicker has hold of Belenuik's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Belenuik manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Belenuik keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
BOOM! McVicker connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Danylo Belenuik has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Belenuik felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Belenuik tries to reverse the position but McVicker maintains control.
McVicker avoids the attempt from Belenuik to control.

Belenuik is bucking up trying to escape but McVicker cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

McVicker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
McVicker is trying to control. Belenuik wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
McVicker slips a nice elbow through Belenuik's hands, connecting with Belenuik's forehead.

Prince McVicker showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for McVicker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
