Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jake Burke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Krinov! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krinov looks to land a right hand but Burke moved out of range. Burke looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Krinov throws a leg kick but Burke moved away. Krinov throws a looping overhand right but Burke ducks down to avoid it. Nice defenses there by Burke. Krinov misses with a head kick.
Krinov throws a jab but it's blocked by Burke. Krinov darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
It looks like Jake Burke has been cut. Krinov lands a big shot that drops Burke! Can he finish him?
Burke is rocked! Krinov passes into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Krinov thows a huge punch but Burke dodges it nicely.
Krinov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Burke keeps working. Krinov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Burke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Burke is looking to improve his position.

Burke was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Burke lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

The fight stays on the outside here - Burke looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Krinov lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Burke slips a jab from Krinov. Krinov misses with a leg kick. Burke on the wrong end of a nice jab. A head kick by Krinov misses and Burke counters with a three punch combo that has Krinov backing up. Krinov nods at Burke to acknowledge the strikes. Krinov looks to throw the jab but Burke is out of range. Krinov throws a leg kick which misses Burke's front leg but catches the back leg as Burke tries to avoid it. Burke slips under a jab from Krinov. Burke walks into a stiff left hand from Krinov. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Burke counters with a slapping leg kick. Krinov lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Burke steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Krinov. Krinov throws a nice inside leg kick. Krinov throws a hook but Burke blocks it. A telegraphed right hand from Krinov misses the target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krinov scores with a jab. Burke acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Krinov misses with a head kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Krinov does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Krinov misses with a few strikes there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krinov stuffs the takedown. Krinov misses with a straight left. The fight stays on the outside here - Burke looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Burke will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Krinov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Burke. Krinov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Burke decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Krinov's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Burke is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Krinov works over Burke's head and body with a nice combination. Krinov misses the shot to the body. Burke blocks a head kick by Krinov.

Jake Burke is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Burke's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Burke duly obliges. Burke tries to clinch but Krinov moves out of range. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Krinov. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Krinov will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Krinov lands with a cross. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Burke slips under a jab. Burke fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Krinov sprawls well initially but Burke persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Burke seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Krinov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Burke looking to secure an arm triangle but Krinov defends it well. Burke looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Burke goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Krinov turns into him and now he's in Burke's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Krinov postures up.
Krinov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Burke seems keen to control Krinov's posture. Burke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Burke working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Krinov has passed into half guard!
Krinov prevents Burke from improving his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Burke tries to kick Krinov off but Krinov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
