Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Kenji Nakamoto (ranked 5930 p4p, 3416 weight class) and Paulo Kimura (ranked 440 p4p, 331 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Nakamoto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paulo Kimura! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kimura has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Paulo Kimura has been cut. Nakamoto throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kimura dodges the punch combination from Nakamoto.

and Nakamoto moves into the clinch. Kimura told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Kimura sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Kimura throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Nakamoto had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Kimura lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Nakamoto backs up against the ropes.
