Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ham Burger (ranked 1945 p4p, 5919 weight class) and Ike James (ranked 248 p4p, 591 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James closes this distance looking for a takedown but Burger circles away.

James shoots in and bounces Burger off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Burger is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and James defends well.

Burger had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. James defends it easily.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Burger is retaining full guard.

Burger looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Burger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Burger working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. James manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

James is looking for a kimura but Burger is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for James to get the leverage.

James is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
James looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

James has an Americana. Burger didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! James is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if James hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
