Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joao Dos Santos (ranked 3404 p4p, 4093 weight class) and Sajit Dopinder (ranked 200 p4p, 236 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Dos Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sajit Dopinder!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dos Santos drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dos Santos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dopinder is keeping the position for now.

Dos Santos postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dopinder is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dos Santos, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dos Santos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dopinder gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dopinder is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Dos Santos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Dos Santos can't keep his opponent in guard - Dopinder advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Dopinder prevents Dos Santos from standing back up.
Dos Santos is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Alpha Brasil, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Dos Santos moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Dos Santos is looking for a triangle but Dopinder pushes his legs off easily.

Dos Santos seems a little lost for a moment, as Dopinder dominates the positioning.
Dopinder tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

You can see the frustration on Dos Santos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dos Santos manages to get back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joao Dos Santos will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Dos Santos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dopinder to the mat! Dopinder manages to get full guard.

Dos Santos is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dopinder can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dos Santos seems to be working for a kimura but Dopinder defends the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dos Santos is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Dopinder to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Dos Santos drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dopinder manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dos Santos has Dopinder in his guard.

Dos Santos wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Dopinder is now in half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dos Santos tries to kick Dopinder off but Dopinder keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Dos Santos tries to kick Dopinder off in order to stand up. Dopinder Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Dopinder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dos Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dopinder is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Dos Santos's shoulder. That is not cool.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dopinder is staying tight to Dos Santos's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Dos Santos is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dopinder is controlling him well.
Dos Santos is looking for a sweep.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Dos Santos gets back to half guard.

Dopinder looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Sajit Dopinder is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dos Santos moves to clinch but Dopinder breaks away
and Dopinder counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dos Santos thinking.
Joao Dos Santos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dopinder lands a body shot.
Nice takedown defense from Dopinder. No joy for Dos Santos on that attempt.

Dos Santos goes for a double leg but Dopinder avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dopinder continues to drive forward.
Dopinder pushes Dos Santos back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Dopinder tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Dopinder breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dos Santos is looking to clinch but Dopinder is avoiding it.
A little jabbing left from Dopinder on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dopinder drops Dos Santos with a beautiful combination! Dos Santos stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Dopinder is looking for the KO!
Dopinder dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dos Santos drives through and clinches with Dopinder against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Dopinder.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sajit Dopinder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Dos Santos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dopinder pinned against the cage. Dopinder gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joao Dos Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dos Santos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dopinder sprawls well. Dopinder wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dos Santos gets slowly back to his feet.
It seemed like Dopinder was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
