Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thorvald Nansen (ranked 1247 p4p, 1249 weight class) and Phony Phontana (ranked 168 p4p, 169 weight class). Nansen comes to the cage accompanied by Benny Jamz - Torden. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thorvald Nansen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phony Phontana! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Phontana takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Phontana misses with an uppercut. Phontana throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Nansen counter with a right hand. Nansen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Phontana is trying to defend but Nansen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Nansen is looking to take a break and control but Phontana is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nansen is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Phontana to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Phontana trying to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Phontana looking for subs off his back but Nansen has passed one foot through into half guard.
Nansen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Phontana has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nansen tries to pass to full mount but Phontana defends it. Phontana actively working from the bottom here. Nansen works his way into full mount! Nansen is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Phontana can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Nansen lands a big shot there that rocks Phontana but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nansen avoids the attempt from Phontana to control. Phontana is working to get back to half guard.
Nansen landing shots from mount. Phontana is wriggling around trying to escape.
Phontana is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Nansen in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Nansen raining down hammerfists from mount. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nansen lands with some strikes. Phontana is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. A nice elbow there by Nansen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nansen lands a nice shot to the head.
Phontana is rocked! Nansen is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Phontana to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Phontana shrugs it off. Phontana is still in real trouble! Can Nansen finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nansen prevents Phontana from getting the reversal. Nansen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Phontana is looking to escape. Nansen cracks Phontana with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Phontana tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nansen pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Nansen moves to back control. Nansen is raining down hard shots and and Phontana has had enough - he's tapped out due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Thorvald Nansen! An out of breath Thorvald Nansen thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
