Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Snake (ranked 3714 p4p, 5418 weight class) and Gerson Silva (ranked 394 p4p, 522 weight class). Gerson Silva is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Snake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Gerson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva blocks a head kick by Snake.
Snake sets himself, and Silva steps forward looking for the clinch! Snake avoids it this time.
Snake scores with a nice body kick.
Silva wants to clinch but Snake slips to the side
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Snake lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Silva has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Silva and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Silva takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Silva should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Snake stuffs the takedown.
Snake is looking to counter with head kicks.
Silva falls off balance throwing a combination
and Snake counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crunch! Snake slams his shin into Silva's torso.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Snake sprawls well.

A chopping leg kick lands by Snake.
Snake throws a front kick aimed at Silva's knee but Silva avoids it well.
We've been hearing reports that Snake has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Snake tries to score with a low kick but Silva moves his leg out of the way.
Silva tries to counter by closing the distance.
Snake throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nice takedown defense from Snake. No joy for Silva on that attempt.

Silva cracks Snake with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Silva shoots in but no luck this time.
Silva fails to land with a series of punches.
Snake jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Snake throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Snake throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Silva tries a head kick but it misses.
And Snake counters with a quick kick to the body but Silva blocks it.
Silva keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Snake lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Silva tries to clinch but Snake moves out of range.
Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Snake.
Silva on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Snake. Snake obviously looking to wear him down.
Gerson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Snake circles away.
Snake lets loose with a powerful body kick. Silva will feel that in the morning.
Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Snake.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva.

and Snake counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Some bone on bone action there as Silva checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Silva wants to counter with a clinch but Snake pushes him away.

Snake tries a head kick but it misses.
Silva steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Snake.
Snake throws a low kick but it's checked well by Silva.
Silva misses with a right hand
and Snake counters with a solid body kick.
Silva dives in and grabs Snake's left leg, looking for a takedown. Snake pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.
David Snake is winning the standup battle so far.
Silva takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Silva tries to clinch but Snake is having none of it.
Silva misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva walks forward, straight into a front kick from Snake.

Snake shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Silva feints a counter leg kick.

Silva tries to clinch
and Snake counters with a body kick.

Silva drives through with a takedown into Snake's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Silva prevents Snake from getting back to his feet.
Silva lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Silva throwing strikes from guard but Snake blocks nicely.
Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Snake works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Silva pushes down on Snake's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Silva not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva decides to stand and escape the position.
Snake throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Snake is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silva can do to turn this around?

Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Snake is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Snake circles away and we're back to standing.

and Snake counters with a slapping leg kick.

and Snake counters with a solid body kick.
Silva takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Snake walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Silva checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Silva tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Silva has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Snake.
Snake throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.

Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Snake looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Snake tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Silva looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Snake wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

David Snake dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Snake manages to avoid it.
Snake thinks about countering with a body kick.
Silva throws a looping overhand right but Snake ducks down to avoid it.

Snake throws a sloppy head kick and Silva moves out of range easily.
Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Snake.

Snake turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Gerson Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Silva dives in and grabs Snake's left leg, looking for a takedown. Snake pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.

Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Snake swats him away and circles back towards the center.
No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Snake.
Gerson Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

David Snake is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Snake can pounce on him.

David Snake showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Snake, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
