Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nikita Kucherov (ranked 4737 p4p, 4765 weight class) and Jorge Rom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kucherov comes into the arena with Enter Sandman blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikita Kucherov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jorge Rom!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kucherov goes for a double leg but Rom avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rom continues to drive forward.
Kucherov fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Kucherov was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Rom throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kucherov was covering up waiting for the punch and Rom finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Rom stays in close to Kucherov's body and controls the position.
Let's hope that Rom has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
