The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rochester tries to score a power double leg takedown but Meier sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rochester somewhat.
Meier swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Meier shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rochester is trying to defend but Meier finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Meier is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Meier connects with a nice short shot to Rochester's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Meier lands strikes from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rochester is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Meier is pushing down on Rochester's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rochester is fighting to maintain full guard but Meier has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rochester is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Well, if Meier is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Rochester is looking to cinch up a triangle. Meier throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Rochester's body to avoid the submission. Rochester has instead reached around Meier's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Rochester arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
