Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikolay Panayotov (ranked 2030 p4p, 2477 weight class) and Lazuran Riku (ranked 44 p4p, 47 weight class). Panayotov's entrance music is Mad World - Gary Jules / Tears For Fears (Cover by Jasmine Thompson). A fine choice. And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 48 - 21 - 2, fighting out of New York, Lazuran Riku!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riku thows a leg kick but Panayotov checks it
and Panayotov counters with a nice uppercut.
Panayotov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Riku moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Panayotov swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Riku.
Panayotov on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Riku. Riku obviously looking to wear him down.
Panayotov throws a body shot but no joy.
Panayotov thuds his shin into the meat of Riku's side.
Lazuran Riku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Good shot there by Panayotov.
Panayotov missing with a left hand there. Riku was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

and Riku counters with a nice low kick that buckles Panayotov's knee momentarily.

Some bone on bone action there as Panayotov checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Panayotov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Riku lands with a hook. Panayotov tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Panayotov is rocked!
Panayotov stuns Riku with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Oh Panayotov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Panayotov glances at the clock... BAM! Riku nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Panayotov crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Panayotov is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lazuran Riku!
A very excited looking Lazuran Riku rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
