Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Haruki Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Timo Lepisto!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lepisto tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance.
Lepisto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.
Lepisto looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Lepisto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Johnson avoids the head kick by Lepisto.
Johnson goes for a double leg but Lepisto avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lepisto continues to drive forward.

Lepisto jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Johnson walks away with a smile on his face. Lepisto gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Johnson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lepisto, pushing him back against the cage.
Lepisto is looking to control Johnson's arms but Johnson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lepisto has his back to the cage.
Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lepisto gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Johnson tries for a takedown but Lepisto manages to get underhooks.
Johnson lands a nice shot to the body.

Lepisto trying to stall but Johnson improves his position.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lepisto thuds a left hand into Johnson's body.
Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Lepisto.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lepisto lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Johnson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Johnson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
As Lepisto tries to get set, Johnson tries to push him back and clinch up but Lepisto manages to avoid the attempt.

Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lepisto pinned against the cage. Lepisto gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lepisto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Johnson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Lepisto sprawls and moves away.
Timo Lepisto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Johnson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lepisto defends well and Johnson ends up having to push Lepisto into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Lepisto jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Lepisto around his waist. Lepisto gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lepisto is looking to control Johnson's arms but Johnson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lepisto has his back to the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Lepisto sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Lepisto counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Johnson is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Johnson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lepisto manages to get himself to full guard.

Lepisto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
