Christie is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Amityville. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Prohor Georgiev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Christie!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Georgiev tenderised Christie's leg. Christie is trying to keep his angry face on.

Georgiev shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Georgiev showed some decent athleticism there.
Georgiev stops Christie from getting back to his feet.

Christie is defending against the submission attempts here by Georgiev.
Georgiev is pressing down on Christie's thigh, looking to free his foot. Christie is holding on for now.
Christie tries to kick Georgiev off but Georgiev keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Georgiev wants to pass to mount but Christie is defending the position.
Christie looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Georgiev passes to side control.

Georgiev tries for a kimura but Christie is defending well.
Christie is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Georgiev controls the position.
Christie is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Georgiev has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Georgiev is looking to take a break and control but Christie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Georgiev is trying to get an arm triangle but Christie is defending well.
Christie wants to get back to his feet.
Georgiev looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Georgiev tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Georgiev has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Georgiev looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Georgiev wants to control but Christie is keeping him busy.
Christie wants to get back to his feet.
Georgiev controlling the position from side mount.

Georgiev wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Christie, who protects the arm well.

Georgiev tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Georgiev moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Georgiev working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Georgiev is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Christie has escaped the position, nice work there.

Christie bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Christie keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Georgiev lands a body shot.
Christie throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Christie lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Prohor Georgiev has been cut.
Georgiev dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Christie scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Christie misses with an uppercut.
Georgiev uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Christie.
Christie thuds his right hand into Georgiev's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Georgiev takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Georgiev rushes Christie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Christie has had enough of the clinch but Georgiev keeps him there for the moment.
Christie's coach down at Crapollas Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Christie's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Christie can't break the clinch.
Christie's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Georgiev tries to score a body lock takedown but Christie shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Georgiev lands with a left to the head.

Christie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Christie ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Christie slips under a jab from Georgiev.
Georgiev chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Georgiev misses with a hook.
A jab from Christie misses.
Georgiev takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Steven Christie will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Prohor Georgiev's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Christie throws a hook but Georgiev avoids it easily.
Christie lands with a cross.
Christie defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Georgiev.

Christie gets caught napping as Georgiev dives in and scores a takedown. Christie manages to retain guard.
Georgiev is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Christie wants to stand up but Georgiev is controlling him.
Georgiev trying to control but Christie is working from the bottom.

Georgiev tries to free his leg and advance position but Christie is retaining full guard.
Christie wants to get back to his feet but Georgiev is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Georgiev wants to control from the top but Christie keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Georgiev motions for Christie to come forward. Georgiev throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Georgiev avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Georgiev tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Christie manages to circle out of the way.
Christie scores with a nice strike.

Georgiev is rocked!
Christie lands an uppercut, right on the button! Georgiev tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
